Preparing Students for Success: The Tax Commissioner’s 3rd Annual Backpack Bash
As the school year approached, excitement, smiles, and a strong sense of community filled the space at the Tax Commissioner’s 3rd Annual Backpack Bash, as we collaborated with our Chair and many other County Departments. This impactful annual event was created with one clear mission: to ensure Clayton County students start the school year prepared, confident, and supported.
Thanks to generous donors, community partners, and dedicated volunteers, hundreds of students received brand-new backpacks filled with essential school supplies, easing the financial burden on families and helping children focus on learning from day one.
More Than a Backpack—A Boost of Confidence
A backpack may seem simple, but to a student, it represents readiness, pride, and possibility. Each backpack distributed was carefully prepared to support academic success and to remind our youth that their community believes in them.
From elementary through high school students, families expressed gratitude for an event that meets a real need while creating a joyful, uplifting experience.
A Community Effort with Lasting Impact
The Backpack Bash continues to grow each year because of strong partnerships and shared commitment. Community organizations, local businesses, county departments, and volunteers came together with one purpose—to invest in the next generation.
This collective effort reflects what makes Clayton County special: neighbors supporting neighbors and leaders showing up with action, not just words.
Three Years of Service and Growth
Now in its third year, the Backpack Bash has become a trusted and anticipated annual tradition for families across the county. Each year, the reach expands, the impact deepens, and the reminder grows stronger that education and opportunity begin with preparation.
Looking Ahead
The success of the 3rd Annual Backpack Bash reinforces our commitment to youth-focused initiatives that support education, empowerment, and equity. As we continue this work, we look forward to expanding our reach and serving even more families in the years ahead.
Thank you to every donor, volunteer, and partner who helped make this event a success—and to every family who joined us. Together, we are building a stronger future for our students.
With appreciation,
